Safer Choice and DfE disclosures

EPA/Safer Choice and EPA/Design for the Environment recognition do not constitute endorsement of a product. The Safer Choice and DfE labels signify that the formula for the product, as The Clorox Company has represented it to the EPA, contains ingredients with more positive human health and environmental characteristics than conventional products of the same type. EPA/Safer Choice and EPA/DfE rely solely on Clorox, including its integrity and good faith, for information on the composition, ingredients and attributes of the product. EPA/Safer Choice and EPA/DfE have not independently identified — for example, through chemical analysis — the ingredients in the product formula, nor evaluated any of Clorox’s noningredient claims. EPA/Safer Choice and EPA/DfE evaluations only pertain to the human health and environmental characteristics of the product, as specified in the Safer Choice Standard and based on currently available information and scientific understanding.
